My name's Derek. I am a librarian, archivist, documentary filmmaker, and UX researcher. I have worked in open source software design, academic and public librarianship, archives, cognitive science research, film production, and elementary education. Particular interests of mine include library technology, digital preservation, cultural heritage, research data management, art history (especially 20th century), Copyright alternatives, psycholinguistics, social ecology, and film history.
